Kohls

Ok, the only place I really shop (outside of Hobby Lobby).............well, being a Kohls charge customer, I get monthly specials (in the form of certain % off your entire purchase). Normally they are like either 10%, 15% or 20%. AND you normally get the 10% of whatever the lowest is. Well, I got lucky and nailed a 30% one in their "week before Christmas" mailout, the highest offering! So it started today and I checked out the Kohls in Frisco. I got two wicker baskets and a wicker trash can, all normally $9.99, on clearance for $2.99 and then you take another 30% off the $2.99! So, lemme know what you think about what I did w/ the baskets. I forgot to take a picture of the trash can, but it just sits in the toilet area of my bathroom - nothing special.

I put one on the bathroom counter to stash some of the stuff I use everyday (as a separation between the two sinks). The other one I used to put on the bathtub and just put in extra washcloths. This is the one I'm not quite sure about. What do you think? I wanted to put them on top of the toilet behind the seat, but they are a little big and it looks kinda strange. This is where I need "girl" help!!!!!!!!!!! hehehe ;)

Wire Stuff

Ok, so Adawndria and I have become somewhat crazy with all the wire stuff we seem to be buying for our homes. Well, here are the most recent things I got from Hobby Lobby. And, of course, we all seem to be addicted to Hobby Lobby these days cuz everything is 50% off pretty much! Greatness!!!

Anyhow, so here are some candleholders in the extra bathroom and the latest wire thing I have hanging above the toilet.

Mike: Well, mainly playing contra, but also trying to get Christmas stuff all finished up. Kind of a stressful time of year.

Blog: So how is your fantasy football going?

Mike: Oh my gosh, Blog, it's nuts. This yr sucked! Didn't make the playoffs in any league and my picking has gone down the toilet! And the two semifinal games in my league were decided by .75 total points! Yes, not even a total point decided TWO games!!!!!!!!!!

Blog: Oh wow!!! So what else is new?

Christmas Lights

Jen and I checked out some Christmas lights tonight. We heard about this fancy house from my neighbors so decided to check it out. It's over in Frisco, has thousands of lights, and the lights go with music! Must say it was really cool!!!!

PAIN!!!!

Ok, I've realized over the last two days that I'm not 16 anymore! The days of doing all sorts of physical labor and not having any effects are OVER! Monday I finished staining the fence which involved countless "up & downs" on my legs. So I woke up today with sore aaaaaaaaaaaa' legs! So then today my dad and I decide to do my edging out front as a border to the flower bed and tree. So I had decided a couple weeks ago which type of stone I was going to get. The smart person I am, I didn't bring the one with me to Home Depot to make sure I got the right one. So we rented the Home Depot truck, had them put in 70 blocks and we drove home. So I joked with my dad that I got the wrong ones. THEN he's like, "Son, look at this..." I got the wrong aaaaaaaaaa' ones! BUT, things happen for a reason and the ones I got I actually like even more. They are more terra-cotta than the tan ones I originally got. It turned out AWESOME!!!! Also got some cypress mulch for the flower bed too - looks MUCH better than the crap the builder put in.

My dad is an amazing help and I've learned a ton from him as it regards landscaping and caring for your yard. I'm only a project-toddler at this point though! It's a load of fun, but I'm seriously sitting here writing this in all types of pain! My knees, legs, back, forearms, scratches, wore the crap out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's hot shower and then off to the sack!

Weather

Ok, not sure about anyone else, but it needs to start getting COLD! The avg high should be like 65, but that is what the darn low has been recently. It makes Thanksgiving seem like 2 months away, when it is only a week away!!!! Wouldn't you rather be eating Thanksgiving meal with your family when it's cold outside?!? Drinkin' hot cocoa, eating pies, etc......and then snugglin' up in a blanket to watch the game. Looks like it might be shorts, cold drinks, and NO blankets this yr!!! UGH!!!

Weekend!!!

I can't wait for the weekend!!! Gonna be a busy weekend, but very fun. Let's see. Friday night Jen and I are gonna meet up with some of her friends (one of which is celebrating her b-day). It's off to Chili's and then bowling! Hopefully the PG and I can bowl better than we did when we bowled together. The PG and I are very competitive, so I'm sure we'll be fightin' to score the best games as a couple!!!

And then Saturday the PG has things she has to do during the day, so I'm gonna do some yardwork. I found some stone edging at Home Depot that is nearly identical to the retaining wall in the backyard. I'm going to put this around the tree, so I bet it's gonna look really nice! I can't wait to see the outcome! I wish the darn sun stayed out longer than 5pm!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes all outside tasks wait till the weekend!!! And then Saturday night we're going to Deborah's 50th b-day party!

Let's see....Sunday we're gonna do our morning walk and then finalize picks/fantasy football, then try to finish staining the fence! Then RELAX a little bit and then it's off to my folks to watch the Bills game! GO BILLS!!! However, I heard that Lynch is gonna most likely be out of the game, so the BIlls prob have 0% chance now.................BUT, I will be picking them with 1 confidence point! :)

Ok, so yep.......lookin' forward to the weekend!!!!!

SUPER BAD EATING

Ok, so some of our co-workers from Austin and San Antonio came up this week for a TX meeting. Sooooo, we all went out to dinner Wed night at HM Fireside Pies. Ate SO bad....Few slices of pizza, few margaritas, appetizers, desserts....BAD!!!!

So, then there is catered Blue Mesa for lunch today. Again, BAD!!! And then Mi Cocina was decided for dinner tonight (Thurs)....ate loads of chips and had a couple drinks. I feel like a total cow - bad bad bad!!!

I've asked the PG to steer me on the healthy path. No more crap!!!! BAD BAD!!!!!!!!!!!

Halloween 2007

Well, it was a bit disappointing as it regards the amount of trick or treaters. I think we got like 10 different groups of kids, about half of which were older kids (maybe 12-15 yrs old). There were a couple really cool little boys - one was spiderman, the other superman! They rocked!!!! Looking back, wish we gave them a ton of candy, but it was so early in the night so didn't know what to expect as far as number of children....

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO, now the PG & I have TONS of candy left over. Thankfully, most of it is gum and nerds. Also some reeses cups for the PG as I'm not all about them as much as she is. She love her some PG peanut butter cups!!! :)

All in all, it was a fun night - just wish we had more treaters!!!!!!

Ok, ya'll remember Saved by the bell..............anyone in our generation (well, prob 99 out of 100) watched saved by the bell growing up. Well, I just realized that TBS plays re-airs during the week at 7am. So, guess what I'm watching as I get ready for work? HAHAHAHAHA!! I don't think there is a single episode that I haven't seen, in many cases multiple times! This morning it was the "college years" series, which I didn't care for too much, but still was pretty good.

It just cracks me up to watch what they wear and how they interact. FUNNY STUFF!!!!

Weekend

This past weekend was the housewarming party. Had a GREAT TIME!!!! Adawndria brought some rockin' cupcakes with a "mat" on the top made of frosting stuff. My PG contributed the tray of chick-fil-a nuggets and drinks! That lemonade is GREAT!! Deborah / Gary brought some cookies and other goodies for my pantry. Drinks were brought by the Zaccarellas. All in all, it was just great hanging out with everyone.

Makes ya' really smile to think that people went through the trouble to put all of this together. Between the various cooking, organizing, and gift-giving, WOW! I feel very happy to have these people in my life. I'm not very happy with the BR, but that's okay. And by the way, I'm just kiddin' with the BR. A little gas, but no BR!! heheheheheehehhe

Really though, I think the day went great! Many THANKS to all those who had a hand in putting this together! Friends and Family is what life is all about!!!!!!

Football Dilemna

Ok, so tonight.............I want the Colts to win the game, BUT if Jacksonville wins, then Jeff wins 1st place in the office pool (gets $50), and I would tie with Lee for 2nd, giving me the chance to get $25 if the combined score doesn't go over like 45 points I believe. Hmmmmmmmmmm, who do I root for?!?!?!?!!?

On another subject, Chica and I are gonna hang out this week. Hopefully she won't be super drama, but we'll see. She's still great.......

Won my league's matchup, but lost brutha' league. MUST win next week in brutha' league to keep pace w/ Brown Sugar (a.k.a Tom Brady as her qb - 'nuff said).....

Massage

I got a massage today. As part of my welcome package to McKinney, I got a voucher for a free 30-minute massage, so I was really happy about that. Anyhow, I was fairly pleased with the massage, but still not worth paying what they charge at the "good" places. For $30, I can get a 1-hr massage at the massage schools but students. It would cost $60-$70 at other places to have the same length of a massage. The suite was very nice and extremely peaceful, which certainly beats the setting at the schools. However, your head is buried on the table anyway, so you don't see what is around you. And you got music going on too! Anyhow, I thought about maybe going back to this place, but I'm very pleased with the massage schools. Massages are great! You get SO relaxed, you feel like you're floating! NO, not on a cloud! hehehehe....

Anyhow, I think I'm gonna head to bed soon. I'm sleepy! Weekend is almost here! I need to get the crib in order!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I won both my matchups this week. On a 3-game winning streak in my league and am 3-3 in each league at this point. I am fairly pleased given my 0-2 start in the ESPN league and 0-3 start in my league. So, then comes the picks. I'm doing completely awful! However, the PG, my sis, and even the buttercream foooo is kickin' aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa'.....girls havin' some sports pickin' knowledge - you gooooooo!

On a sidenote, we traded in downpour rain this morning for tons of fog. Ain't that fun!!!

So, with moving.........specifically with AT&T. They set me up on a local calling plan, only to realize that I could barely call anyone without it being long distance. So, this had to change to a normal plan to give extended coverage of DFW. Ok, fine......so then they deliver my modem a month before I move into the house - to the HOUSE! Of course it got picked up by the builder, only to vanish. No big deal - they sent another one, but a hassle. So, then I get the first bill - all screwed up! They still had the old phone information on it, billed DSH twice....ugh! Called and spoke to Dedida (?), and she took care of it. But then Dedida wanted to push long distance on me, not only once, but TWICE! I came a little unglued and said "I don't want any form of long distance on my phone - that's why I have a cell phone!!!" Dedida and I were about to throw down! So, to make a long story short, AT&T has been a thorn in my side....and my lines were cut when the neighbors had warranty work done to their yard slope! In my two apartments, the issue always had something to do with water. Looks like now it deals with phones. I'll take this over water though!!!! Flooding = BAD!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmmmm, guess that's about it. Housewarming party next weekend - yeaaahh!!!!

Ok, so here we go with this blog stuff. I'm not sure how often I'll keep up with this, but will give it a shot. It's raining now while Jen and I are watching the football game. Good grief, the Saints have screwed me out of many confidence points TOO many times! GO SEATTLE!! On a higher note, I think I'm gonna win in the brutha' league this week - hopefully!!!
